With FindaRef, you post your fixture details — date, time, location, and FA grade required — and our algorithm automatically contacts the best available referee in your area. No more calling around or chasing for availability.

FindaRef covers all FA grades from Level 7 (entry-level) up to National List referees. When you post a fixture, you specify the minimum grade required and we only match referees who meet or exceed that standard.

We hold verification details for referees, including FA registration and DBS status. Youth fixtures are gated so only referees with a valid Enhanced DBS, plus the FA Youth Module for the youngest age groups, can be matched. FindaRef is a matching platform, not a safeguarding authority, so organisers stay responsible for their own checks. Our safeguarding page sets out the full requirements.

No. Referees manage everything through WhatsApp — the app they already use every day. They set availability once, and all fixture requests and confirmations happen over WhatsApp messages.

If a referee cancels, our system immediately searches for the next best available referee and sends them a new request. The organiser is notified throughout the process so you're never left in the dark.

Referees join for free. No subscription, no per-fixture charges. Organisers start from £19.99/month on the Basic plan, scaling to Club (£69.99/month) and League (£399/month) tiers. It's one flat monthly fee with no per-fixture charges.

No. The subscription covers the matching service. You pay the referee their match fee directly, the same way you do now, and FindaRef takes no cut of it. There are no per-fixture charges on top of your monthly plan.

Every organiser plan includes automatic matching, WhatsApp updates, and the fixture dashboard. The difference is volume: Basic covers up to 5 fixtures a month, Club up to 20, and League has no fixture limit. It's one flat monthly fee on each tier.

Every organiser plan starts with a 14-day free trial, so you can post fixtures and watch the matching work before you pay. It's a rolling monthly subscription with no contract, and you can cancel anytime from your billing settings.

FindaRef is built for UK grassroots football and uses postcodes and distance-based matching to find referees near your fixture. Coverage depends on referee signups in your area — the more referees who join, the better the match quality.
